BLACKBURN JOIN RACE TO SIGN UNITED STARLET THIS SUMMER

Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams may be forced to seal a loan switch away from the club unless he wants to be comfortable being called upon for only Cup games or when there’s an injury to any player that plays in the same position as him at Old Trafford. He has been told by United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær that he is an important player for the club and will spend a couple of years at Old Trafford but he first needs to enjoy a run of games and going out on loan is already the best option for him to choose this season.

Southampton were the front-runners trying to sign the young versatile defender this summer but they were let off by the transfer amount United were asking for. The Saints were also told that they would be paying the player’s salary so they immediately rejected the offer as they tried to focus on other new faces that would be coming to the club instead.

Following Southampton’s refusal to continue making plans to sign Williams this summer, England Championship side Blackburn Rovers have appeared to be interested in signing the 19-year-old this summer as they look to bolster their defensive ranks. Blackburn would be a perfect place for Williams to get some game time as he would be granted a lot of opportunities to play first-team football so he can gain match sharpness and more experience but there is currently nothing concrete in place for his transfer.

Williams can play in both right-back and left-back positions but already has Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, and Alex Telles to battle against for those positions and that’s the reason why he has to leave the club on loan this summer as he wishes to continue his development.
